What is Clark Memorial Field aka Fireman's Field?

Clark Memorial Field, known locally as “Fireman’s Field” includes a main banquet hall facility, an outdoor pavilion, and a softball field.  It is owned by members of the Old Saybrook Fire company and is available for rent to the general public.

The complex sits on 10 acres of prime real estate in Old Saybrook, CT.  We are literally just steps from the ramp to interstate 95.

Who can rent the facility?

Anyone can rent the facility.  You do not need to be a member of the fire department or a resident of Old Saybrook.

What amenities do you offer?

Our 10 acre complex offers a diverse selection of amenities including:

  • a large banquet hall with enough room to seat 140 people
  • an industrial grade kitchen where your own chef can prepare your meals onsite
  • a large bar room with color TV, gas fireplace, a 20′ long bar and seating for 40 people inside plus an adjacent patio outside
  • Pavilion with covered picnic tables and a large outdoor fireplace
  • softball field
  • horseshoe pits
  • tons of parking
  • lots of room for the kids to run around!
Where are you located?

We are located at 210 Elm Street in Old Saybrook, just a couple hundred yards from exit 67 on Interstate 95.  We couldn’t be more conveniently located for you and your guests!

Do we have to use your serving staff?

No. In fact we don’t have a serving staff.  We provide the facility only. All of the other details are completely under your control.  We do however have a representative onsite in case you need any assistance.

Do we have to use your bartender and buy your alcohol?

No.  We do not provide a bartender or alcoholic beverages. This leaves you free to use any bartender you want.  And since we don’t provide alcohol, this saves you a TON of money because you won’t have to pay “bar prices” like you would if you were holding your event at a hotel or resort.

We can recommend a good bartender if you need help with that.

Do we have to use you to cater our event or can we bring our own chef?

We don’t offer food preparation services, so of course you can use your own chef!   We have an industrial quality kitchen onsite for your convenience so outside catering is unnecessary.  Our kitchen facility contains all the amenities your chef will need to create a dining experience your guests won’t soon forget!

You can meticulously plan your meals and serve your guests exactly what you want.  You won’t be dependent upon selecting from somebody else’s menu. And the cherry on top is you’ll save a TON of money not having to pay retail restaurant prices for each meal like you would if you held your event at a resort or hotel.

We can recommend a good chef/caterer if you need help with that.

Do we have to rent the entire facility or can we rent just the parts we need?

We are here to make sure your event is a wonderful experience for you at a price you can afford.  So of course you can rent our facility piecemeal, selecting only the amenities you need.

What is the minimum time period that we can rent?

Three hours

What about music?

You are free to hire your own disc jockey (DJ) or band.  We can recommend a good DJ if you need help with that.
